"I don't want any metals. My brother, friends and I did not fight against Nazism and Communism because of them."

The Senate has also nominated the Mašín brothers for state honours in October. What does Josef Mašín say about the fact that according to the President he will not be among the honorees again? In a long-distance interview, he also evaluated the film The Brothers and explained why he does not want to return to the Czech Republic - Josef Mašín exclusively. But the murdered Honzátko was not innocent.
Quote: It is already clear, according to Petr Pavel's statement, that Josef and Ctirad Mašínová will not do it again, regardless of the Senate's proposal. As the president recently put it, the awarding of the fighters against Nazism and Communism is "prevented by one small section of their story". "We did not fight evil for the sake of medals," Josef Mašín responds. "Well, politicians know how their voters think. That's why they express themselves about us the way they do. And that the Czech Senate is nominating us for honours? I take it that they see us differently than President Pavel," adds Josef Mašín.
Josef Mašín does not shy away from the aforementioned "section of their story" - the liquidation of Constable Honzátek. "At the time we decided to resist, the communist regime was responsible for 80 political murders. The drugged Honzátko died painlessly. However, those who ended up like Milada Horáková writhed on the gallows for tens of minutes before the executioner strangled them on the other side of the gallows via a pulley," says Mašín, also explaining why he does not consider Honzátko an innocent victim.
What prevents me from returning - and I don't know if you will understand me - is the direction of the Czech Republic and its lackey role in the European Union. Moreover, for some Czechs I am still a murderer.
