34 years after the revolution. It's desperately late. But it's never too late if the mistake can be corrected. November will be over when we outlaw the Communists. We owe it to our ancestors. To all those who did not betray. In Prague, 17 November 2023 Martin Mejstřík, Jaromír Štětina
The 34th anniversary of the November Revolution has passed. This year we are facing a round anniversary, the thirty-fifth. I have decided to make one more attempt to truly complete our revolution, i.e. to enforce the ban on the promotion of communism, as my colleague Štětina and I attempted to do in 2006 and 2008.
Attached you will find an appeal addressed to all MPs and Senators. We would like to offer our parliamentarians a paragraphed version of an amendment to the Criminal Code that would outlaw the promotion of communism (including symbols of communism).
What is before us is to persuade the legislators to pass such a law. And thus complete what we wanted and expected in 89/90. For this reason, you will find under our appeal (following on deliberately from the one organised years ago by my colleague Štětina) the subtitle "When will November end".
Thank you for your support and good wishes.

Leader of the university students in 1989 and Senator (2002-2008)

It is indicative of the state of Czech society that the petition has been signed by 335 people to date, 66 of them anonymously, i.e. 20%?! With the exception of former senators Ján Horník, Martin Mejstřík and Jaromír Štětina, no politician and no well-known public figure, who are assumed not to need to conceal their name? It is as if values and valuable people have completely disappeared from our society. It will always be about the honest work and courage of the individual, regardless of his or her position in society. Those who are unable to deal properly with their past will inevitably be reminded of it in the future with all the deserved consequences and repercussions. JŠ
