The example that Bat'a has provided the world with is proof that capitalism can be done differently. Class consciousness, class hatred and class struggle are concepts that the Zlin labor community never knew. In the Bat'a organization, all employees from high to low had an interest that was of equal significance. That interest was to obtain as large a production as possible, of good quality products at the lowest possible price (a system that could be applied within a government to offer the best services most efficiently). To approach this objective, each individual is primarily dependent on his own labor power. In addition, however, he is also heavily dependent on everyone else and in this remarkable combination of individuality and collectivity lies the secret of the industrial harmony at Bat'a (or what has been referred to as the Bata Hymm of Work, an organization in motion). The make up of the people of Zlin was by nature no better and no worse than elsewhere, and if labor does take place in the context of a disturbance-free community, then it is only because everyone knows for himself that by delivering the highest quality work, he has served his own interest in the best possible way.

The 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia will without a question be not only touching but also pathetic affair, so I ask - did it make any sense to create this new state against the will of all it neighbors and at least a third of its own population?
The long time established Danube monarchy could have been modernized, but instead she was cut apart by silly ethnic spite and hate. So, if you shall celebrate, better light a candle and remember millions victims of illusions about national exceptionalism in the Central Europe.

RESTON, VA – The Media Research Center (MRC) released an extensive report Monday documenting the censorship of conservative voices by Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google. The release of this report follows Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s congressional testimony last week where he was questioned about the growing concern that Facebook engages in political bias and censorship.

The following notes are to assist readers to have some understanding as to the background of why this hijacking took place:
In October 1938 Hitler occupied Czechoslovakia following the signing of the Munich Agreement that September. A few Czechoslovaks managed to leave the country prior to this happening, or during the early days of the occupation, and made their way to Poland, some joining the Polish military forces, and others going to other countries. After World War 2 was declared, on 3 September 1939 and a few days later Poland fell to the invading German military, many of these Czechoslovaks were able to make their way to France and when France fell those who were able to went to England. Here some joined the Royal Air Force and the majority served in the Czechoslovak Fighter Squadrons of 310, 312, or 313. Many others served in 311 Squadron which was a Bomber and later Coastal Command Squadron. By 8 May 1945, when the war in Europe had ended, approximately 2500 Czechoslovaks had served in the RAF and just over 500 had made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is the story of one Czechoslovak woman who took advantage of a rescue operation organized and financed by the famous Czech industrialist, Jan Antonin Bata.Bata helped thousands of Czechoslovak people to escape from the Nazi through his worldwide organization that was headquartered in Zlin, Czechoslovakia. One historical dokument found at the U.S. Holocaust Museum was written by a Jewish refugee who labeled Bata’s efforts “Operation Salvation.” Other records describe that hundreds of Jewish families numbering about two thousand were deliberately repositioned outside of Czechoslovakia as early as the Austrian Anschluss in mid-1938 throughout 1939 to safe areas all over the world.

This PRESENTATION was prepared by John Nash to demonstrate that Jan Antonin Bata provided financial, organizational, and moral support for the Czechoslovak resistance and the defense of Czech people prior to the Munich Crisis and throughout the war. Bata’s support for his country was unprecedented. It is our hope that eventually, Jan Bata will be rightfully recognized as Czech patriot for the great service he rendered to his country.

Russian corruption starts small but quickly spreads.
In President Vladimir Putin’s zero-sum worldview, elevating Russia to the status of a superpower doesn’t require strengthening his own country but rather by weakening the West’s post-Cold War order. The West needs to be more attuned to all aspects of Putin’s troublemaking — specifically his strategic deployment of corruption.
Take the case of his years-long, methodical campaign to enfeeble the Czech Republic with corruption. As a result, this stalwart member of NATO has become an embarrassing pro-Russia mouthpiece that excuses China’s antics in the South China Sea and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. More importantly, it radiates Kremlin-sponsored corruption across Europe.
