FOTOINFORMEL INTERNATIONAL is the name of the presentation of a unique artistic creation by Pilsen artist Eva Hubatova. Twenty years after her first visit she returns here, to a beautiful European capital, now as an artist with her own exhibition. And it is just twenty years ago when her career as a photographer began. Originally, her photographs were intended for a family album, yet soon she started contributing her photodocumentaries to the local Pilsen press, which she still does even today. Over this period of time, her documentary photographs covered a great number of significant events and she has become a respected photographer.

The year 2008 turned out to be a crucial milestone in her perception of the surrounding world and in the way she would transform it in her artistic imagination. She finished her university social-psychological studies, and her humility and respect for old age opened new horizons to her. She put her imagination into the pictures of seemingly unimportant elements of dilapidated walls and faded street corners. Then, by using computer technology, she upgraded the pictures to abstract photo works. For such an individual artistic testimony, she started using the name “fotoinformel“. In the same year, her first exhibition was presented, and soon followed others, in both the Czech Republic and abroad (Germany, Canada/British Columbia, Africa/Zambia).

Ms. Hubatova´s photoarchive includes photos from 20 countries of Europe (Belgium, France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein), which she visited over the period of 20 years. Details of some of them were used in the pictures in this exhibition.

“In our commercialized and technology-based age, when under relentless pressure humanmankind often finds no time or space to search for beauty, this work by Eva Hubatova becomes even more precious. It demonstrates unlimited possibilities for finding beauty in everyday, often insignificant objects. Eva Hubatova´s artistic production is a poetry of colours and shapes which talks to us on every occasion. All we need are eyes to see and observe, a soul to contemplate, and a heart open to the touch of beauty.“
