„Our life is the only object in this world that we cannot consider as our private property, because we have contributed nothing to its construction. It has only been bestowed upon us with the obligation to hand it on to posterity, multiplied and perfected. Our peers, therefore, and still more our posterity, have a right to demand an account of our life. This book is meant to be such a heartfelt accounting."
Tomáš Bat'a - THE MESSAGE OF TOMÁŠE BATI sn.

I saw it in the cinema in CinemaCity in Anděl in Prague. Nothing but a communist, subliminal agitprop in a new rendition, which follows the communist BOTOSTROJ. The question is, are the authors so incompetent, or are they all-powerful for the money? I'm not disputing the actual subject matter or the great acting by the lead actress, but to put two great subjects into one in this production is one big shenanigan, if I'm to remain polite.
Jan Antonin Bata and his associates are presented here as hard and ruthless businessmen. This film has absolutely nothing to do with his actual work, intellect and importance to society.

1930: Such a letter would be written by Tomas Bata to the Prime Minister even today !

A few examples: the mass medical examinations of job applicants, filmed in the Tomáš Bata Memorial, evoke in the uninformed and uneducated viewer the medical examinations in Nazi concentration camps. The communists in Zlín had no chance. The military police resembled the practices and characters of the StB, Bata was happy with them, so he employed its members to protect the company - for their dirty work! The Bata company was censoring the press! Zlín is said to be full of frustrated mothers and girls! Vulgar expressions used by Bata's subordinates, e.g. "overworked", did not belong in the dictionaries of the company's managers. The unnatural welcoming of Bata by the young girls with waves, evoked a forced welcoming of communist papalists, having nothing to do with the real enthusiasm in Zlín. Bata would never have said that "wood rots for nothing" in the Tatras, in a nature reserve!
This big film cost tens of millions of crowns, sponsored also by the public ČT! While the film BRATERS had to raise money! CT will surely show it soon on the first program in prime time...
The film is unnecessarily long, boring to the point of being mindless, with a vain attempt to achieve the opposite, except for a few scenes. It will appeal to an uninformed and plebeian audience. This is what we agreed on in the discussion after the film with a few leaving, disappointed viewers. Millions of crowns wasted.
Thus, the film will only be appreciated by the LGBT community, when this theme carries through most of the film and comes out in full support of it. Today, just choose the right theme and funding is no longer an issue. Who can answer the question of why Bata was added to the hot topic of the time? Intention, stupidity or ignorance. A society that allows exemplary personalities to be smeared in this way is morally sick. Nothing good awaits it if it allows these moral and ethical perversions to run free. We see the symptoms multiplying around us every day. They are increasing. To this day, there is no better way to educate people to benefit themselves and society, as Bata has done in practice. JŠ
