Once again I took advantage of the invitation of the Ukrainians and saw an excellent performance in front of a packed auditorium. I do not speak Ukrainian, but even a "non-Ukrainian" understood the message of the time. I attach two short videos below and a small PHOTOGALLERY.
"Katherine" is a generalization that the fate of a woman is a reflection of the fate of Ukraine, a kind of sad parallel. For the audience is prepared a special story, an outstanding woman who searched for strange treasures and found a serious burden. Destiny is a journey and are we ready to accept all the punishments for our actions and pass all the tests to reach paradise? Are we responsible for our actions before men, and above all before ourselves?
Shevchenko always finds something new, mysterious that is hidden in words. He wrote with his soul, and his soul was beautiful. He felt the inner world, the human nature and psychology of Ukrainians, their feelings and nationality. His every word is filled with the history not only of Ukraine, but of something else, something deeper. Taras Shevchenko is versatile. For some he is romantic, for others he is a nationalist and a free slave. The phenomenon of Taras Shevchenko is that he is the one we want to see because it allows us to make his stories our own.
Unplanned, I attended an auction to help Ukrainian soldiers (couldn't not attend). This was my second painting (the first was at the Broadway Theatre with the baby). I was even invited on stage for a group photo. Only later did I realize that the painting by the Ukrainian painter, which represents a square in Lviv, represents buildings that are the work of a Czech architect. JŠ
