Excerpt from an interview with Jana Černochová for Právo (1 June): "When I became a minister, the Military Intelligence informed me about the investigation of several members of the army. It was quite a big corruption case and involved several colonels." Gosh, the reader will think, the army is getting pretty sticky. But it doesn't get information on how many people and what they were involved in. All he knows is that this is the version on which the minister bases her high personnel powers. Does she feel the influence of Russian intelligence? "Yes, I feel it greatly," but "for security reasons I will not be specific."

"I've been getting various warnings in recent weeks that a lot of people don't want some of my actions. From that perspective, it probably wasn't surprising to me. What was a surprise to me, on the other hand, was that the thing happened at the exact moment I went on the air. I was flying with a charity to Lebanon for a spin. And I sat on a plane for seven hours. Very few people knew about this trip. So I ask myself a lot of questions that it actually took place at that moment."

It's a known fact that the MoD has been riddled with heavy corruption for years, where Gunsmiths certainly don't have the last word. Its predecessor, the enormous pressure to resign, has not let up. Will Defence Minister Černochová be able to hold her position, or for how long? Nobody elected the armourers, but they certainly have more power in the state than politicians and the public suspect. As the threat of war rises - so do their obscene profits from the trade in" death and life." Consul Dr. Jana Chaloupkova could tell the story.
