This seems to be the theme of our time. The belief that technology will solve all our problems is refuted, distrusted, devalued. People are fed up with the pharmaceutical companies that have bought our governments and now control them. The pretend power that technocrats wield is unbelievable. Technology is a god that has failed. Running our entire lives through technocrats with toys and drugs seems like a very bad idea to me.
I should have seen Google's promise not to be evil as the opposite, a foreshadowing that one day it will do mostly evil. Now its search results are massively skewed in favour of ruling class interests, and its video platform YouTube mercilessly censors anyone who deviates from the regime's narrative. This is still happening today.
Technology certainly has its place, but it will not solve all human and natural problems. There are no injections that will make the coronavirus disappear. There are no pills or surgeries that will turn a man into a woman or a woman into a man. You can call anyone anything you want, but chromosomal differences affect the entire physical and psychological structure of the human person. Why would anyone believe otherwise?
